What is Adire?
Adire translates to tie “tie and dye”, the practice dates back all the way to the 19th
century and is common in the Southern western region of Nigeria amongst the
people of Egbaland. However, our Adire originates from Ibadan in Oyo State.
Decorated using a resist dying technique, vibrant indigo dyed cloths are used to
create a multitude of patterned designs that can vary in the way they absorb the dye
dependent on the pattern of choice.

Which dyeing technique have we used for our set?
Hand painting aka the most time-consuming way of the production of Adire.
However, at Cultureville we’re dedicated to providing you with carefully curated,
ethical and authentic craftsmanship of our garments.
Wear it as a set or as solo pieces - the world is your runway, we’re just here to
help along the way!
