How to Live Your Best Single Life This Valentine's

Love on Top, Love Me Like You Do, I Will Always Love You... These are just a few of the millions of songs written about love. Our society is obsessed with love, with hashtags like #relationshipgoals, #baecation and #powercouple lurking in every corner of social media. With all this talk of love going around it’s easy to feel like love only exists when you’re in a relationship. Particularly on a day like Valentine’s Day when it seems like you’re being slapped in the face with love, so here are 5 ways you can live your best damn life this Valentine’s without a significant other by your side.

 

  1. Galentines/guyantines

Who needs a relationship to have a good date night? Grab your favourite guys or gals and head out for a date day or date night. There’s nothing like being surrounded by your best friend and having a good ol’ laugh. Why not try a relaxing spa day or a comfy movie night

 

2. Send some love


Ever heard the phrase “Do unto others what you want to be done unto you”? Well that applies here. One of the best parts of valentines is picking a gift out for that special someone so why not just skip the boyfriend/girlfriend part and get a good gift for someone in your life perhaps your mum, a sibling or a friend. The surprised look on their face will definitely bring you joy.

 

  1. Treat yourself

Why is it that we always need an excuse to treat ourselves? Well here’s the excuse – if you don’t spend that money on you, you’ll end up spending it on something else so why not you? You work hard, you deserve it! (And you’re already on the Cultureville website so why not start here?)

  1. Go on a getaway

Nothing makes you forget your troubles like living your best damn life so why not pack a bag and get away. Do things you’ve always wanted to try, go on an adventure and do something daring.

  1. If you can’t beat them, join them

Although you don’t need someone else to validate your worth, if you want them go get them! How about that person you’ve always liked but never had the courage to speak to? Well there is no time like the present. What is the worst that could happen anyway?  (P.S: This may not work if you’re loving the single life)

 

Although Valentine’s Day can be be eye roll inducing when you’re single, we hope these steps allow you to feel the love too. At the end of the day, it is just an excuse to treat the ones you love so why not love on you?

Finally, remember that you are a freaking boss on your own. “You don’t find your worth in a man, you find your worth in yourself and then find a man who is worthy of you”. Keep on killing it!
